| The training and conditioning program at Laurian Quarter Horse is specifically tailored to address the unique individual needs and objectives for each horse in our care. No matter the discipline or event from Halter and Performance Horses to Breeding Stallions and Broodmares – each horse is revered as a distinctive individual and we strive to meet the exclusive needs of each and every one.
The goal for our show horses is to present exceptional highly competitive individuals who will earn championships one right after another and who are sound, healthy and content show partners for their owners. To achieve that, our clients plan along with us as we outline the goals and objectives they have for their horses. We discuss your goals in detail and a specially designed systematic approach is outlined to achieve those goals. At the forefront is the determination to assure we are addressing the needs of both the physical and psychological well being of your horse. Your horse will be assessed upon arriving at Laurian Quarter Horses; from there each of your horse’s individual requirements will be specifically addressed. Our Equine Dental Specialist is called in to examine all horses at least two times a year – we have a strong belief that dental care is a keynote to good equine management. Our vaccine and general basic health care program is again addressed on an individual basis and is discussed and reviewed with each client. In addition to a comprehensive health care program our team of Equine Veterinary Practitioners include both traditional and state of the art conventional medical care and chiropractic, acupuncture, homeopathic and naturopathic services as well. Your horse will receive the regular services of a Certified Master Farrier with over 25 years experience in competitive performance hoof care. You can rest assured that your horse’s health and well-being will be monitored regularly and will receive the very best of exclusive care and attention. At Laurian Quarter Horses diets are designed to meet each horse’s individual nutritional needs geared to achieve and maintain superb health while reaching optimum physical and athletic conditioning. We schedule a minimum of four feedings per day however; if your horse requires additional feedings our program will be adjusted to meet those needs. Basic feed, roughage and nutritional supplements are included and if needed additional supplements and or conditioners are added at cost. Dietary and nutritional requirements are assessed on a regular basis and adjusted as needed. Your horse will receive a minimum of six days per week of training/conditioning and daily exercise, which is augmented, whenever possible, with turnout time in either a paddock or small pasture. We feel that regular daily activity is vital to a horse’s physical health. Daily activity and regular turn out is equally as important to the enrichment of the psychological health of both competitive horses and breeding animals as well. Everyone likes to have fun relaxing playtime and our horses are no exception to this! Regular scheduled lessons and instruction are offered to all of our clients and we also provide supportive coaching and guidance while at shows – this is included in your monthly board and training fees. Clinics and Judging services are also available upon request. Our accounting schedule is based on an all-inclusive monthly fee combining both board and training and includes many other unique specialized services. We feel it’s important for our clients to know what expenditures will be in advance and offer a comprehensive package, which is both affordable and competitive. Additional expenses, which will be incurred such as hauling and show fees and or for special needs or services – are always reviewed and discussed in advance. Unique to Laurian Quarter Horses, we do not levy a percentage of the show monies your horse will win for you and all awards and trophies go to you as the winning horse’s owner!
